I decided to finally write down this experience as it gets deeper and deeper in to the cazm of the real.
As I pulled into my friends driveway I decided to pull to the side of his driveway so that his wife could pull out her minivan with no trouble. I then heard a CRACK and i thought " are you kidding me...what could be hiding in this grass?" After I got out my heart dropped as I noticed that I had snapped my buds skateboard in half. This was the board he rode everywhere and I was ticked that I had killed it. Little did I know where this snapped and dead mode of transportation would eventually take me.
I took the board home and took the trucks off and looked everywhere for a board that was comparable. I could not find one! Not at yard sales, craigslist, stores, etc etc... So I started to read online about long board decks.....I thought it would be simple to recreate my buds deck....
After a few failed attempts, my real estate client came over and saw the graveyard of maple plywood in my garage, and said that he had the equipment about to arrive in a few weeks to his house that I was helping him purchase and that he would love to help.
That was when it hit me that I could start this into a little moolight gig! Curse me for having these thoughts! When I was in grade school I would buy pencils for sports teams and sell them for .15 more a piece, then as a teenager I had a clothing line for snowboarders, and a car audio installation setup in my parents garage where i hooked up friends systems and charged $45 for the instal! These insane quips of inspiration flabbergast me!HaHaHaHaHa
Back to the present...
We tried a few different designs and shapes but we couldn't bow the wood without splitting it and I knew we would not be competitors to any other skate company. I then scrapped the idea and went on with my life..... It is late and I better get some shut eye. until later ..aloha! jb
